Rams win two at Treynor Classic

The Glenwood baseball team blasted 17 hits in a pair of wins at the Treynor Baseball Classic on Saturday.

Ten different Rams had at least one hit in a 10-9 win over Woodbine in the tournament opener. Josh DeYoung and Bryan Harless were both 2-for-4 in the win.

Gage Comer received a no-decision after allowing five earned runs and eight hits in four innings of work. Taylor Kaufman came on to pitch a hitless final inning and 2/3 to earn the win.

In game two, Drake Ruth was the winner on the hill after allowing just one earned run and five hits over six innings while striking out seven. Kaufman came on to finish game two as well, pitching a scoreless seventh for the save.

Nick Wells had two hits and an RBI in game two and Kaufman drove in one on a double.

Three of Logan-Magnolia's four runs came via Glenwood fielding miscues.

C.B. Lewis Central 6

Glenwood pounded out 11 hits in an 8-6 Hawkeye 10 Conference baseball victory over Council Bluffs Lewis Central on Thursday.

Grant Loeffelbein, Taylor Kaufman and Nick Wells all had two hits each for Glenwood. Both of Wells' hits were doubles that drove in three runs.

Bryan Harless earned the win of the hill after fanning 10 and scattering eight hits in six innings before giving way to Kaufman who pitched a hitless seventh for the save.

Shenandoah 3

Taylor Kaufman smacked a three-run home run and Drake Ruth pitched a complete-game six hitter a 7-3 Glenwood baseball victory over Shenandoah last Tuesday.

Ruth did not allow an earned run in improving to 2-1 on the season. The sophomore righty also struck out nine.

Josh Magnussen was 2-for-3 at the plate and Kyle Wheeler 2-for-4.

Taylor Kaufman drove in three runs and Nathaniel Bledsoe two as Glenwood knocked off South Page 17-7 in a non-conference baseball tilt last Monday.

Nick Wells scattered five hits over three scoreless innings of the win.
