Cold, wind can’t slow Rams at Lady Tiger Relays
A cold, windy night did nothing to slow the Glenwood girls track team.
The Rams wrapped up eight gold medals as they ran away with the team title at the Lady Tiger Relays Thursday in Red Oak.
The weather, some illness and some injuries maybe have slowed the Rams a bit, said Glenwood coach Cory Faust, but the focus was there all meet.
“It was a cold, windy night, but the girls did a nice job controlling their attitude and effort,” said Faust. “Despite not having three of our more talented runners compete as planned, we were able to win the meet in impressive fashion. I continue to be impressed with the attitude and effort of the entire team, but especially our seniors: Emma Ringsdorf, Gabby Mixan, Myranda Starner, Linnaea Konfrst, Kaycee Clark, Olivia Scarborough, Miranda Ruth, and Molly Dean.
Our focus has to be on continuous improvement while staying healthy.”
The Rams’ had a strong day in the relays, winning the shuttle hurdle and 4x200-meter relays and placing second in both the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays.
Miranda Ruth and Molly Dean each secured a pair of individual gold medals. Ruth won both the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles and Dean topped the field in the high jump and the 800-meter run.
Aubrey McIntyre added a gold in the 3,000-meters and Linnaea Konfrst won top honors in the discus.

Rams win shortened
Lady Cardinals Relays
Severe weather cut short the Lady Cardinals Relays last Tuesday with the Glenwood girls ahead in the team standings after 11 events.
Despite the weather and the early finish, Glenwood coach Cory Faust said he thought his team had a “great night.”
“Beyond the team score and performances, and more importantly, I loved the energy, focus, and positive attitude I saw,” Faust said of the truncated meet. “I see us being better mental competitors and caring more about practice, competition and being a great teammate.”
Linnaea Konfrst won both the discus and shot put while setting a personal record in the latter with a top toss of 40 feet, 5 inches.
The Rams’ 4x800 set a season-best time to add a gold medal time while the 4x200-meter and distance medley relays placed second.
Aubrey McIntyre added a second place showing in the 3,000-meters.
