    The Hawkeye 10 Conference has announced a restructuring of its boys and girls basketball schedule beginning in the 2010-2011 season.

    League officials announced last week the conference will be broken into a north and south division. The following schools will make up the northern division of the conference: Atlantic, Denison, Harlan, Kuemper, and Lewis Central. The southern division schools will be: Clarinda, Creston, Glenwood, Red Oak and Shenandoah.

    The East Mills baseball team could not hold onto a 4-1 lead as Fremont-Mills rallied for an 11-5 Corner Conference win on Friday.

    The Wolverines (7-8 overall, 6-4 in the conference), scored two runs each in the first and third innings to take the early lead, but Knight starter Brandon Herrick seemed to get control of the game over the final three innings to hold East Mills to one run.

    Molly Bryan broke the single season strikeout record and Glenwood pounded out 18 hits in Hawkeye 10 Conference double-header sweep of Denison on Thursday.

    The Rams (23-12 overall, 10-6 in the conference) had 13 hits in an 8-3 game one victory over the Monarchs. Bryan struck out 10 and allowed just five hits in the win.

    In the capper, Bryan fanned two and allowed six hits in a 3-0 shutout.

    Fremont-Mills pitcher Mindy Lorimor threw a complete-game one-hitter and drove in three runs on two hits in a 10-0 Knights’ win over East Mills on Friday.

    The Knights (22-10, 14-0 in the Corner Conference) have won five games in a row since a 10-0 set back to Bettendorf on June 27.

    Lorimor fanned 10 in running her record to 20-3 on the year. The sophomore has struck out 267 in 136 1/3 innings pitched.

    Lynde Madison was 2-for-4 and drove in a run. Hannah Fichter added two hits and two RBIs.

    Amy Walker had the Wolverines’ lone hit.

    Glenwood won the first game 5-4 and the capper 6-4.

    The Rams (17-8 overall, 9-5 in the conference) got the complete-game victory from Harless (3-1) in game one. The junior right-hander allowed 10 hits but struck out eight and allowed just three earned runs.
