  • Rams defeat Tri-Center

Glenwood came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Tri-Center and complete its regular season with a 13-1 record.

The game, which featured just two officials instead of the usual three, was more physical than coach Brad Selvey expected but he thought his team dealt with that physicality pretty well.

“It was a much more physical game than we were anticipating,” said Selvey. “We really escaped with a win and really, without injuries. It was kind of a chippy game.”

“It's not the team that plays the prettiest that wins. It's the team that scores the most goals that wins,” said Glenwood coach Brad Silvey of his team's 2-1 Class 2A District semifinal loss to Council Bluffs St. Albert on Friday at Iowa Western Community College.

“Honestly, we played the game we wanted to play. We had strong possessions and spread it out well. Unfortunately, St. Albert finished better than we did and we couldn’t come back,” said Silvey.
