        TABOR - After a first quarter that saw the two teams combine for nearly as many fouls (seven) as points (eight), the East Mills and Fremont-Mills girls match up had the makings of a rugged, good-old-fashioned Corner Conference tussle between rivals.

        Council Bluffs St. Albert jumped on Glenwood for an early 21-9 lead and then closed the game on a 21-10 run to down Glenwood  71-61 on Saturday.

  • Glenwood girls get 14th win of...

        The Glenwood girls basketball team rolled to its 14th win of the season on Saturday with a convincing 66-38 non-conference victory over Council Bluffs St. Albert.
         The Rams are now 14-5 on the season and 9-2 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference.
        Glenwood broke open a 10-10 first quarter tie game with a 25-10 second-quarter run to lead 35-20 at the half. The Saintes couldn’t get closer than double-digits the rest of the way.

  • Rams wrap up regular season with...

        The Glenwood wrestling team wrapped up its regular dual season with a 60-22 victory over Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson on Thursday.
        The Rams won 10 of the 14 matches and improved its dual record to 14-5 this season.

  • 'Team effort' pays off...

        The Glenwood wrestling team won four of five matches at the Bishop Heelan Duals in Sioux City on Saturday.

        “This was a great team effort out of everyone,” said Glenwood coach Matt Dyer. “The kids wrestled very well. Everyone had to do their part for us  to win these duals.  We had a few guys out of the line-up and the kids that stepped in did an excellent job filling in.

  • Balanced Rams roll over Tigers

        Morgan Lucy scored 17 points and Grace Newman and Lexi Fisher 12 points each for Glenwood in a 68-21 victory over Red Oak on Friday in Hawkeye 10 Conference play.

  • Knights fall in conference...

       The Stanton girls forced 22 turnovers and held Fremont-Mills to 26.6 percent shooting in a 74-29 victory in the Corner Conference semifinals last Wednesday.

        The Knights had trouble navigating the Viqueens' full court pressure and stopping Kadie Subbert. Subbert scored 21 points, blocked two shots and grabbed two steals. Shelby Wagg added 13 and Rachel Sorensen 12 for Stanton.
        Lynde Madison led Fremont-Mills with 12 points.

  • East Mills boys advanced to...

        The East Mills boys continued its stifling defensive play in the Corner Conference tournament with a 50-32 victory over Villisca in last Thursday's semifinals.
        The Wolverines advance to play Clarinda Academy in the conference title game. The championship game, postponed from Saturday due to inclement weather, will be played Saturday, Jan. 29 at Fremont-Mills High School at 7:30 p.m.

  • Ram run tames Tigers

        It may not have been a wake up call exactly that the Glenwood basketball team needed after down early 12-5 to Red Oak but something woke his team up following the Tigers' third straight three-pointer, said Coach Curt Schulte.
