  • Rams Beat Two Bluffs Teams

    The Glenwood baseball team bounced back from a season-opening loss to Tri Center to post victories over Council Bluffs St. Albert and Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson last week.

    Glenwood shut out St. Albert 7-0 Thursday night with pitcher Tyler Jensen picking up the win. Corey Bertini and Alec Forbes provided the power for the Rams and Mitch Bowden drove home a trio of runs.

  • Ram Softball Wins 3-of-4 To Open Season

    Glenwood opened its 2013 softball season by winning three of its first four games. Pitcher Lisa Nebel tossed shutouts in all three wins.

    Nebel pitched a one-hitter in the Rams’ 10-0 victory over AHST. She recorded nine strikeouts and gave up just one base on balls. Cassie Kruse homered in the victory and drove in three runs. Jaelin Stanton scored a pair of runs for the Rams.

  • Glenwood Girls Advance With OT Win

    It took the second half of extra time, but the Glenwood Rams girls soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the Class 2A Region 3 tournament after defeating Winterset 4-3, Thursday evening.

    Jordyn Hanshaw scored the game-winning goal for Glenwood thanks to an assist by Sydney Gutschenritter at the third minute mark of the second half of extra time.

  • Substate Loss Ends Rams' Season

    As cliche as it sounds, Glenwood’s substate soccer loss to Adel DeSoto Minburn (ADM) Saturday afternoon really was much closer than the final score would indicate.

    The Rams took 15 more shots than ADM, but it was the Tigers who would tally three goals in the final 15 minutes of the game to punch their ticket to the state tournament with a 3-0 win before more than 200 spectators at the GCHS soccer field.
