    Judge Mark Eveloff
    Jacob Charles Stock – O.W.I., pleaded guilty, one deferred judgment, six months probation, ordered to pay $1,250 fine, court costs and fees.
    Frank B. Cates, Council Bluffs – driving while license is barred, suspended sentence of six months in county jail with credit for time served, one year probation, ordered to pay court costs and fees.
    Jeremy Jack Rusco, Glenwood – driving while license is denied or revoked, pleaded guilty, ordered to pay $50 fine, court costs and fees.

  • Election Day Is Nov. 4

    Election Day in Mills County is less than a week away.

    Polls will be open Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.

    Four Republican candidates are on the ballot for positions at the county courthouse and all four are unopposed – Richard Crouch (county supervisor), Becky Dix Killpack (county treasurer), Lisa Tallman (county recorder) and Tricia McSorley (county attorney).

  • Mills County District Court 10/29/14

    Judge James Heckerman
        Nikki Ann Segebart, Denison – gathering where controlled substances are used, pleaded guilty, sentenced to five years in prison with credit for time already served, ordered to pay court costs and fees.
        David Michael VanFosson, Shambaugh – O.W.I., pleaded guilty, sentenced to two days in county jail (may serve sentence in Page County or in Urban Dreams program), ordered to pay $1,250 fine, court costs and fees.

  • Mills County Sheriff Reports 10/29/14

    Accidents
        Oct. 16 - A vehicle driven by Dawn Harris of Pacific Junction was southbound on 195th Street approaching road construction on Highway 34 and failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The vehicle proceeded into the westbound lane where it was struck by a second vehicle driven by Jewel Harper of Glenwood. No injuries were reported.

  • FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS PREVIEW

    The Knights (9-0) make their fifth straight playoff appearance hosting East Union (5-4) in the Eight-Man opening round Wednesday in Tabor.

  • Rams sixth, eighth at state qualifier

    CARROLL - Glenwood’s Cuentin Gray missed a state cross country bid by 17 seconds as the Ram boys placed sixth and the girls eighth at the Class 3A State Qualifying Cross Country Meet at Kuemper Catholic Thursday.

    Gray placed 13th with a time of 18:35. Sergeant Bluff-Luton’s Scott Miles was the 10th and final state qualifier in the boys meet with a time of 18:18.

    Bishop Heelan’s Alex Povone won the district individual championship with a time of 17:23 and led the Crusaders to the team title.

  • Kuemper downs Rams in regular-season finale

    Kuemper Catholic smacked down 36 kills  in a 25-14, 25-16, 25-21 sweep of Glenwood in Hawkeye 10 Conference volleyball last Tuesday.

    Glenwood (16-13 overall, 5-5 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference) struggled with its hitting against the Knights (18-8 overall, 5-5 in the conference), finishing with a .115 kill efficiency and 22 kills.

    The Knights also had 11 blocks.

    Jana King led the Rams with six kills and 11 assists. Kali Mumm and Lyndie VanNess each recorded five kills.

    Libero Olivia Scarborough recorded 17 digs.
