        May 21 – Casey’s reported a gas drive off.
        May 28 - West Elementary School in Glenwood reported an attempted burglary.

        May 21 – A vehicle driven by Norval Raymer of Glenwood was backing out of his driveway on Sharp Street into the path of a vehicle driven by David Keene of Glenwood, causing a collision. No injuries were reported.

  • Mills County Sheriff 6.3.15

        May 17 – A vehicle driven by Loren Mayer of Malvern reported a burglary and theft.

        May 19 – A vehicle driven by Michelle King of Emerson was backing out of the driveway on Third Street when the vehicle struck a legally parked vehicle owned by Helen Johnston. No injuries were reported.

  • Knights’ Hurley, Powers earn medals at state track

    Fremont-Mills’ Kelsey Hurley medaled in three events and Parker Powers was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at the Class 1A Iowa State Track and Field Meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

    The Knight girls finished with 20.5 points to place 10th in the girls Class 1A standing. Hudson was the girls champion with 72 points.

  • Glenwood girls10th at state track, boys place 13th

    The Glenwood girls won five medals and placed a program-best 10th overall in the Class 3A standings with a school record 24 team points at the Iowa State Track and Field Meet in Des Moines.

    Davenport Assumption was the girls team champion with 79 points.
    But it was his own team Glenwood coach Brad Rasmussen was more impressed by.

  • Mills County District Court 5.27.15

    Richard H. Davidson
        Billy Walsh, Pacific Junction – animal abuse, pleaded guilty, sentenced to one year probation, ordered to undergo psychological evaluation, pay $625 civil penalty, court costs and fees.
        Carley Marie-Jene Hunter, Glenwood – child endangerment – bodily injury, pleaded guilty, deferred judgment, sentenced to two years probation, ordered to pay $750 civil penalty, court costs and fees.

        May 15 – Glenwood Senior Center reported a burglary and criminal mischief.
        May 15 – Glenwood Public Library reported an attempted burglary and criminal mischief.

        May 14 - A vehicle driven by Karen Callaway of Pacific Junction was turning right into the McDonald’s parking lot when a second car, driven by Susanna Weber of Glenwood rear-ended Callaway’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.

  • Glenwood girls, boys looking to compete on last day of state track meet

     The Glenwood girls track team sits at 18 points and in a tie for seventh place heading into Saturday’s final day at the Iowa State Track and Field Meet in Des Moines.

    The girls will run in the shuttle hurdle relay finals Saturday morning with a final chance at points. Assumption leads in the girls standings with 49 points.

    The Glenwood boys place (36th) and team points (two) after two days at the state track meet may seem disappointing but with four final events yet to be run the Rams have plenty of chances to climb the leaders board.

  • The Last Lap

    As the Glenwood girls track team circled the track in their triumphant victory lap celebrating the team’s second straight Hawkeye 10 Conference title at Ram Memorial Field, Glenwood coach Brad Rasmussen could only watch.

    And cry.

    The usually stoic longtime coach couldn’t hold back the tears as he watched his team surrounded by reporters. All the coach wanted to do was celebrate with his team.
