  • Fugitives Arrested In Colorado

        A  pair of Michigan fugitives who stole a vehicle in Glenwood as part of a two-week crime spree have been apprehended in Colorado.
        Kenneth Grauman II, 32, and Greg Bradshaw, 23, were arrested in a hotel in Canon City, Colo., on Thursday by Canon City Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.
        The pair had walked away from  a halfway house in Lake County, Mich., on Sept. 29 leading to a two-week, multi-state manhunt.

  • Drainage Issue At New Glenwood City Hall

    Glenwood’s new City Hall renovation costs are going up.
        The Glenwood City Council approved over $10,000 at last Tuesday’s regular meeting to cover the costs to repair a drainage issue on the property.

        City financial director Brian Kissel said the new funds will be used to correct a flooding issue that was occurring in the basement of the City Hall property, located at 5 N. Vine St., when it was purchased this summer.

  • Plea Agreement?

    Mills County Attorney Eric Hansen said a plea agreement has been discussed, but he would like to see a former employee of the Mills County Treasurer’s Office serve time in jail for the alleged theft of around $35,000 from the auto department over a six-year period from 2005-2011.

  • 'Winter Warm Up' clothing donations

        Winter Warm-up will be held from 12 - 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, in the fellowship hall of Grace Methodist Church, 112 North Walnut, in Glenwood.
        Anyone needing a winter coat, hat, gloves, scarf, blanket, or other winter clothing, is invited to come and select the winter clothing needed - size infant to adult. There is no charge and no identification is required.

        Dee Dee Sue England, Glenwood – driving while license is barred (habitual offender), sentence suspended to seven days in jail, one year probation, ordered to pay $625 fine, court costs and fees.
        Shanna Marie Black, Glenwood – driving with an expired license, pleaded guilty, ordered to pay $50 fine, court costs and fees.
