    Accidents
        Dec. 18 - A vehicle driven by Matthew Twehous of Malvern lost control of his vehicle on Highway 34, causing the vehicle to cross the centerline and strike the side of a bridge.

        David Arthur Campos, Council Bluffs – O.W.I., pleaded guilty, sentence suspended to 30 days in county jail, one year probation, ordered to undergo substance abuse evaluation, ordered to pay $1,875 fine, court costs and fees.

    The congregation at First Christian Church of Glenwood staged a live outdoor nativity scene Monday and Tuesday night to begin its Christmas week celebration.

    The production followed Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem for the birth of their son, Jesus Christ.

  • Five Wolverines in double-figures in win

        East Mills had five players score in double-figures in a 86-43 rout of Heartland Christian in Corner Conference boys basketball on Friday.
        Keegan Wederquist led East Mills (4-2 overall, 4-1 in the conference) with 18 points while Colden Hillyer added 13, Joseph VanSant 14, Jacob Schafer 11 and Logan Currin 10.
        The Wolverines shot a blistering 57.3 percent from the field (36-of-61) and recorded 26 steals on defense.

  • Heartland Christian downs East Mills girls, 54-46

        Both Molly Cunard and sister Steffi Cunard combined to score 49 of Heartland Christian’s 54 points in a 54-46 victory over the East Mills girls on Friday.

  • Kuemper edges Glenwood, 56-54

        Glenwood couldn’t hold on to a five point lead with four minutes remaining in the game as Kuemper Catholic rallied for a 56-54 Hawkeye 10 Conference boys basketball victory over the Rams on Friday.
        “This was a good quality high school basketball game between two good teams. We just came up two points short,” said Glenwood coach Curt Schulte.

  • Cold shooting Rams fall to Knights

         Kuemper Catholic jumped out to a 10-1 lead and led by as many as 21 in a 55-36 Hawkeye 10 Conference girls basketball victory over Glenwood on Friday.

  • Rams second at Rollin Dyer invite

        The Glenwood wrestling team had four champions and three other wrestlers reach the finals at the Rollin Dyer Invitational on Saturday in Atlantic.
        Johnston edged Glenwood 229.5 to 228 in the final team standings. The host Trojans were a distant third with 189.5 points.
