        PACIFIC JUNCTION - More than 2,500 people gathered at the Mid America Motorplex Saturday evening to pay their respects to four motorcyclists who lost their lives in a collision Aug. 9 on the southbound lane of Interstate 29 near Little Sioux.

  • Tragedy On Interstate 29

        Three Mills County men were among four motorcyclists who lost their lives in a head-on collision in a construction zone along Interstate 29 near Little Sioux on Monday.
        Iowa Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Courtney Greene said the accident happened around 6 p.m. Monday when a pickup truck, which was traveling north, crossed the center line in a two-lane construction zone and collided head-on with four southbound motorcycles, which were riding in a close pack.

  • New GRC Superintendent Settling In

        Zvia McCormick has officially assumed her duties as the new superintendent of the Glenwood Resource Center.
        McCormick was hired June 24 to replace R. Scot Booth who resigned abruptly from the position earlier this year after less than six months on the job. Her first official day on the job was July 12.

        The Glenwood junior placed third at last fall's Iowa State Cross Country meet, the school's best ever individual finish. This after breaking the school record for the Rams' own cross country course and snagging his second straight Hawkeye 10 Conference title.

  • Ready To 'Rock The Roof'

    If you like that old time rock ‘n roll music, the Davies Amphitheater is the place you need to be Saturday night.

    Three hall of fame bands will share the stage as the Iowa Rock ‘N Roll Music Association (IRRMA) brings its “Rock The Roof Road Show” to Glenwood for the first time ever. The concert, featuring the music of Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Con Brio, The Fortes and The Thunderbirds, is being staged as a joint fundraiser for the Davies Amphitheater roof replacement project, IRRMA and the Iowa Rock ‘N Roll Museum.
