        The Glenwood girls smacked 14 hits and starting pitcher Lisa Nebel did not allow an earned run in an 8-2 non-conference softball victory over Griswold on Friday.

    Around 50 people turned out Thursday night at the county courthouse in Glenwood for a candidates' forum sponsored by the Mills County Republican Party Central Committee.

  • Relay For Life Ambassadors

    The 2012 Mills County Relay for Life is set for June 2-3 from 4 p.m. - 8 a.m. at Ram Memorial Field in Glenwood.

        More than 1,000 walkers are expected to participate in the annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
        The Relay for Life committee has selected four ambassadors for this year’s event.

  • Glenwood defeats Missouri Valley, 6-0

        The Glenwood boys soccer team wrapped up its regular season on Thursday with a 6-0 rout of Missouri Valley.
        Tyler Jensen scored two goals and Blake Beier, Bryce Cap, Trenton McNeel and Ross Van Slyke each added a goal.
        For the game, Glenwood held a dominant 45-2 shots-on-goal advantage.
        Glenwood opens district play tonight at 5 p.m. at the Ram Soccer Fields.

  • Newman, Tucker qualify for state tennis tournament

        Rachel Tucker and Grace Newman became just the third Glenwood doubles team to qualify for state after finishing second at the Class 1A, Region 2 meet in Red Oak on Thursday.

        DES MOINES - The Glenwood boys track team didn’t repeat as Class 3A state champions at the Iowa State Track. But you’d be hard-pressed to a find a coach less disappointed with how his team performed than Glenwood boys coach Mark Starner.
