  • Tickets Going Fast For USAF Band Holiday Concert

    More than 500 tickets have been distributed for The United States Air Force Heartland of America Band’s holiday concert in Glenwood next month.

    Through the sponsorship of The Opinion-Tribune newspaper and Glenwood Community School District, the band from Offutt Air Force Base will present its 2014 “Sounds of the Season” holiday concert at the Glenwood Community High School auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 2 p.m.

    With the new Mills County Law Enforcement Center and Jail opening for business Nov. 6, deputies, jailers and administrative staff are still settling in at the state-of-the-art $6.4 million facility.

  • Fremont-Mills one win from state title

    With 1:49 remaining in the Eight-Man semifinals, Fremont-Mills was in unfamiliar territory.

    The Knights, who had not trailed in a game entering the playoffs, found themselves down 27-22.

    They needed just 40 seconds to change that.

    Judge Mark Eveloff
        Kale Garrett Hardman, Malvern - third-degree theft, pleaded guilty, sentenced to 25 days in county jail, fine suspended, ordered to pay court costs and fees.
    Judge James Heckerman
        Johnathan Robert Sibbitt, Glenwood - pleaded guilty to contempt of court, sentenced to 25 days in county jail with credit for time served.
        James Eugene VanMuysen, Council Bluffs - unlawful possession of a prescription drug, pleaded guilty, ordered to pay $315 fine, court costs and fees.
