    The Glenwood Public Library's basement renovation may be finished, but the excitement has just started.
    The fall will bring several new programs to the library. Director Angela Campbell found out in mid-July that the Library Foundation has received a $35,000 grant for the creation of a living literacy lab.

Officers from the Glenwood Police Department and Mills County Sheriff's Office were asked to assist federal officers Tuesday morning in serving a search warrant at a private residence at 57257 225 St.

A federal officer at the scene declined to discuss details of the search, but said additional information would be available from the U.S. Attorney's Office at a later time.

Glenwood-area residents are invited to a grand reopening of the Glenwood Public Library on July 31. Festivities run from 5 - 7 p.m. with an open house, including refreshments and a ribbon cutting.

    The library renovated its children’s area this past spring. According to Glenwood Library Foundation Board member Vonnie Esterling, the library’s board of trustees had talked about renovating the library for many years.  

MINEOLA - “Out of the past, into the future” was the theme of Saturday’s ground-breaking ceremony for the new Mineola Community Center and Historical Society.

    The new structure will replace the nearly century-old community center on Main Street that was demolished after being heavily damaged by wind and hail last August.
