  •     Glory Road, a gospel quartet from Council Bluffs, will make a return engagement at the Davies Amphitheater Sunday, June 24.  
        Their southern gospel style of music makes them a popular performing group throughout the Midwest. They have presented concerts and special music for churches, conventions, revivals and other events since the group was formed in 1998.  
        The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

  •     The Iowa Master Gardener program is once again offering a series of summer webinars. The 2012 series titled “Garden Goodness” will be hosted by Iowa State University Extension Mills County on the fourth Tuesday of the month - June through August. Each session will provide information about vegetable gardening, but from a variety of perspectives.
        Dates, presenters, and topics for the 2012 series are:

        The Summer Food Service Program is sponsored by the Glenwood Community School District and is free to all children ages 18 and under.
        Glenwood Middle School, is located at 400 Sivers Road. Breakfast is served 8 - 9 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
        Kid’s Place Daycare is located at 103 Central, at the Glenwood Resource Center campus.
        Breakfast is served 8 - 9 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. - noon. Limited seating is available.

  • Judge Greg Steensland
        Shanna Marie Black, Glenwood – child endangerment, pleaded guilty, deferred judgment, five years probation, ordered to undergo substance abuse evaluation, perform 250 hours of community service, pay $625 civil penalty, court costs and fees.
        Jerad K. Perkins, Pacific Junction – forgery, pleaded guilty, sentence suspended, one year probation, ordered to pay victim restitution, court costs and fees.


  •     The Country Cousins 4-H Club met June 4, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the Glenwood Park.   The meeting was called to order by historian, Sarah Jacobsen.  The pledge to the American flag was led by Andy Staiert and Michaela Staiert. The roll call was, “What is your favorite project area?” and was answered by 21 members. There were three leaders, one guest, and 10 parents present at the meeting. The secretary’s report was approved as given by Jessica Arnold. There was no treasurer’s report available.
