Amanda Mulholland and Andrew DeGroote were united in marriage on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Norwalk United Methodist Church in Norwalk.
The nuptials were officiated by the Rev. Kiboko Kiboko. A reception followed at the Blank Golf Course in Des Moines.

The bride is the daughter of Tom and Deanne Mulholland of Malvern and granddaughter of Don and Suzanne Simmons of Thurman, and Nancy Mulholland of Glenwood.
The groom is the son of Don and Val DeGroote of New Hartford and the grandson of Clara DeGroote of Parkersburg and Marian Bundy of Cedar Falls.

    Dale and Gayle Spetman are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary with a dinner and dance on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Mineola Community Center.

    The dinner begins at 6 p.m. with the dance to follow from 8 p.m. to midnight.
    The Spetmans were married on Sept. 7, 1985, in the park gazebo on
Main Street in Silver City.
 

It’s been a long haul for Glenwood Transit Line.

Seventy-one years to be exact.

The freight, transport and storage business has been a staple of the Glenwood community since shortly after the Great Depression, but Clarence Boles, Jr., and his wife, Helen, say the time is right to close up shop.

“It’s neat after this length of time to say we’re closing with a positive attitude,” Helen said

during an interview last week. “We’re not being forced to do this. We’re doing this because the time has come.”

Her routine is rigorous. Physically exhausting. Emotionally draining. Some days, it's outright overwhelming.

Gina Giaffoglione would have it no other way.

One year removed from an auto accident that has left her with full paralysis in the lower half of her body, the 22-year-old Wayne State College student is determined as ever to return to a lifestyle of total independence.
