  • Among those attending the 50-year class reunion in Glenwood this weekend will be a tall, slender woman with grey hair and kind eyes. She doesn’t live in Glenwood; in fact, she doesn’t even live in the United States.

    Judy (Nightingale) Bain attended Glenwood High School for one year. She was the school’s first female exchange student, arriving in Glenwood in August 1962 from her hometown of Truro, England.

        Sept. 1 – Jake Champ of Clarinda reported a theft of his vehicle.

        Aug. 30 – A vehicle driven by Trace Yager of Pacific Junction failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of Vine and Fifth Streets, where the vehicle collided with a second vehicle driven by Jesse Studey of Glenwood.

        Raymond Lee Kalkas, Imogene – driving while license is barred (habitual offender), pleaded guilty, sentenced to three days in county jail, ordered to pay court costs and fees.
        Preston Wayne Mathis, Glenwood – second-degree harassment, pleaded guilty, sentence suspended to one year probation, ordered to obtain psychological evaluation, pay court costs and fees.
