John Jens and Donna and Richard Dickeson, all of Glenwood, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Jens, to Steven Sprague, son of Dr. Terry and Mary Jane Sprague of Audubon.

The bride-to-be is a 1997 graduate of Glenwood Community High School and a 2001 graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor of science degree in animal science. She graduated from ISU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Jens is a partner and practicing veterinarian at Audubon-Manning Veterinary Clinic (AMVC) in Audubon.

Earl and Donna Hatcher were married on Aug. 6, 1944, in Kansas City, Kan.

To celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary, their daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Richard Cape, will be hosting a private family dinner. The Hatchers have two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Dick and Dottie Oles will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on Feb. 7. The couple was united in marriage on Feb. 7, 1959, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Omaha.

The couple’s four daughters and their families will host an anniversary open house on April 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church.

Sherry Simpson of Council Bluffs and Kelly and Connie Simpson of Oakland have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Erica Leone Simpson, to Ronald Eugene King, son of Dennis and Delores King of Malvern.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of LeRoy and the late Roberta Nelson of Fontanelle, and Jerry and the late Margaret Simpson of Logan. She graduated from Buena Vista University with a bachelor’s degree in human resources management. She’s employed at the Glenwood Resource Center as a supervisor.
