The Omaha Community Playhouse will produce “Next to Normal,” the 2010 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama, Feb. 7 – March 16.
“Next to Normal,” by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, is a rock musical and raw account of a family dealing with mental illness, tragedy and the realities of modern society. The plot centers on an overly mediated mother trying to cope with bipolar disorder as her family struggles to maintain normalcy in their suburban home. A hard-driving rock score with tear-inducing ballads make this show unlike any other.
The national tour of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story of four rock ‘n’ roll icons: Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash, will make its premiere at Omaha’s Orpheum Theater Tuesday, Feb. 18.
The show is part of the Omaha Performing Arts’ Broadway Series and will run through Sunday, Feb. 23.
