  • Mills County District Court 2/12/14

    Judge Greg Steensland
        Bragun Michaelsen, Pacific Junction – third-degree theft, pleaded guilty, deferred judgment, placed under drug court supervision for two years, ordered to pay restitution, court costs and fees.
        Wendy Lynn Meadows, Glenwood – defendant admitted to violation of probation on charges of willful injury and domestic abuse assault, ordered to reside at state correctional facility and pay court costs and fees.

        Feb. 1 – Tammy Hammers of Malvern reported a theft.

    Accidents
        Jan. 21 – A vehicle driven by Jeremy Lee Downing of Pacific Junction was eastbound on Glover Road when a tire went flat causing the vehicle to leave the road and strike a tree. No injuries were reported.
        Feb. 1 – Hailey Murphy of Glenwood was northbound on 237th Street when her vehicle slid into a yard and struck a tree. The driver was transported to Mercy Hospital.

        Jan. 28 - Glenwood Resource Center reported criminal mischief.
        Jan. 29 - Donna Reafleng of Glenwood reported a burglary, criminal mischief and theft.
        Jan. 29 - Glenwood State Bank reported a forgery.
    Accidents
        Feb. 20 - A vehicle driven by Bruce Burson of Glenwood lost control due to road conditions and struck a power pole.

  • Next To Normal

     The Omaha Community Playhouse will produce “Next to Normal,” the 2010 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama, Feb. 7 – March 16.

    “Next to Normal,” by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, is a rock musical and raw account of a family dealing with mental illness, tragedy and the realities of modern society. The plot centers on an overly mediated mother trying to cope with bipolar disorder as her family struggles to maintain normalcy in their suburban home. A hard-driving rock score with tear-inducing ballads make this show unlike any other.

  • Million Dollar Quartet

    The national tour of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story of four rock ‘n’ roll icons: Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash, will make its premiere at Omaha’s Orpheum Theater Tuesday, Feb. 18.

    The show is part of the Omaha Performing Arts’ Broadway Series and will run through Sunday, Feb. 23.

    Accidents
        Jan. 2 – A vehicle driven by William Stewart of Glenwood caught fire for unknown reasons near Fourth and Linn Streets. No injuries were reported.

        Jan. 13 – Stephanie Reichart of Carson re-
    ported a criminal mischief.

    Accidents
        Dec. 19 – Bret Sheppard of Malvern was traveling east on Highway 34 when the driver lost control due to icy road conditions and struck a second vehicle driven by Charles Edwards of Shenandoah. No injuries were reported.
