  • Katie Weber-Kuhl Lived Her Life With A ‘Big Heart,’ ‘Affectionate Smile’

    She enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was camping, enjoying a hog roast with her family or spending time in the water on a boat or inner tube.

    Two of her favorite foods were chicken fingers and pizza.

    Her favorite childhood movie was “The Little Mermaid.”

    She played basketball and soccer as a youngster and was a Girl Scout. She tried playing the flute for a year or two in the school band.

    Those are just a few of the special memories Katie Weber-Kuhl’s family members have of their daughter, granddaughter and sister.

  • Poker run raises funds, awareness for fight against breast cancer

    More than 500 participants in the ninth annual “Bikers For Boobies” poker run converged on Glenwood Saturday afternoon to help raise money for the fight against breast cancer and to bring awareness to the disease.

    Glenwood’s Keg Creek Brewing Co. was one of five stops on the event that began in Omaha and passed through southwest Iowa before concluding Saturday night in Ralston, Neb.

    Accidents
        June 17 – A vehicle driven by Andrew Brant of Pacific Junction was eastbound on Coolidge Road when the vehicle left the roadway and went across an empty parking lot, striking a building. No injuries were reported.

        June 12 - Faith Felos of Glenwood reported a burglary and theft.
        June 18 – Michael Rupe of Glenwood reported a burglary and theft.
        June 26 - Kelly Hall of Omaha  reported a domestic abuse assault.

        The Glenwood Community School District is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children 18 and under without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
