East Mills used a 16-2 fourth quarter run to pull away from Essex for a 46-26 Corner Conference victory Friday.
The Wolverines (11-2 overall, 10-0 in the conference) led 30-24 at the end of the three quarters before exploding in the fourth quarter.
Kolten Wederquist led the Wolverines with 12 points, seven rebounds, four steals and four blocked shots. Jacob Schafer and Logan Currin each added 10 points.
The East Mills defense limited Essex to a season-low in points while forcing 15 steals.
Austin Woods led Essex with 10 points.

Joni Laughlin scored 15 points to lead the East Mills girls to a 46-36 victory over Essex in Corner Conference girls basketball Friday.
“We had very good ball movement all night and played with a lot of composure,” said East Mills coach Jeff Laughlin. “We handled their press fairly well, and we were able to get a lot of open looks because of that. We shot the ball very efficiently from the perimeter, and did a better job on the offensive glass.”
The Wolverines (6-7 overall, 6-4 in the conference) took the lead midway through the first quarter and never relinquished it, forcing 11 steals and nine blocked shots in a sterling defensive effort.
Jessie Doyle chipped in nine points for the Wolverines.
