Colin White swept his matches en route to a first place title and 11 Glenwood wrestlers placed at the Tiger Invitational on Saturday at West Des Moines Valley High School.

The host Tigers won the team title with 249.5 points, easily edging second place Indianola 217.5. Glenwood was fourth with 137.5 points.

White went 2-0 in his heavyweight matches to garner his individual title.

At 145 pounds, Tyler Maxwell went 1-1 in his matches to earn a second place title.

“Just like last week we did some things really well and we did some things really bad,” said Dyer, referring to his team's fourth place finish at the Dan Hill Invitational Tournament in Harlan last Saturday. “We have to be consistent in our game plans when we wrestle. Valley and Indianola are tough teams.

“I would have liked to see us place higher than Sioux City North because they are in our district. We were not allowed to practice for two days and that affected us this week. We need to have great practices leading up to competition otherwise we will not perform at a high level.”

In all the Rams placed eight wrestlers in the top four.

“I was pleased with how many guys came back for third and fourth,” Dyer said. “Our goal is to win the tournament, if that can’t happen you place as high as you can. Eight guys placed in the top four and I was pleased with that.”
