The formal interview process is over for the Glenwood Community School District’s four superintendent finalists.
Over the past week, the four candidates have each taken a turn spending an entire day in Glenwood answering questions and touring facilities. The Glenwood Board of Education hopes to name the district’s next superintendent within the next week, said Dr. Thomas Jacobson of McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., a consulting firm assisting the district in its superintendent search.
Glenwood’s four finalists for the position are all currently serving as public school superintendents in the state of Iowa. The finalists are Devin Embray of Independence, Dr. John Weidner of Wapello, Dr. Daniel Frazier of Sioux Central and Jeff Herzberg of Sibley-Ocheyedan. Embray was the first candidate to interview last Wednesday, followed by Weidner on Thursday, Frazier on Friday and Herzberg on Tuesday.
The interview process included question-and-answer time with the school board, school district administration, staff, students and community members.
Glenwood’s new superintendent will replace Dr. Stan Sibley, who’s retiring from the position on July 1.
