All three candidates for seats up for election on the Glenwood Community School District Board of Director’s will be unopposed in the Sept. 13 board election. Candidates had until Aug. 5 to file the required paperwork to be on the ballot.
Board president Theresa Romens and Ann Staiert, who was just appointed to her seat in July, are joined by first time candidate Craig Patzer.
Patzer is running for the seat being vacated by Linda Young who has decided not to pursue a fourth term on the five-member board.
All seats on the board are at-large and members are elected for three-year terms.
Staiert was tabbed to replace Dave Warren after he stepped down in July.
Polls at the Harvey T. Rimel American Legion Post No. 141 will open at noon and close at 8 p.m. on Election Day.
In the East Mills School District, the merged boards of the Malvern and Nishna Valley School Districts will remain until 2013. At that time, district voters will have the chance to elect a new board in its entirety.
Keith Barber is the only incumbent running for his seat on the Fremont-Mills School District Board of Directors. Barber, who represents District 3, is unopposed.
Eli Forney is the lone candidate for the District 3 seat.
As of Friday's deadline, no candidates had applied to have their name on the ballot for District 1 in the Fremont-Mills district.
