School board elections will take place Tuesday, Sept. 13, across the state of Iowa.
Three candidates are running for seats on the Glenwood Community School District Board of Education. Craig Patzer and Theresa Romens are the candidates for two at-large seats while Ann Staiert is seeking to fill the vacant seat left by Dave Warren who resigned over the summer. Staiert was appointed to the seat on an interim basis in July.
Voting for the Glenwood Community School District will take place at Harvey T. Rimel American Legion Post No. 141 from noon to 8 p.m.
In the East Mills School District, the merged boards of the Malvern and Nishna Valley School Districts will remain until 2013. At that time, district voters will have the chance to elect a new board in its entirety.
Keith Barber is the only incumbent running for his seat on the Fremont-Mills School District Board of Directors. Barber, who represents District 3, is unopposed.
Eli Forney is the lone candidate for the District 3 seat.
As of the filing deadline, no candidates had applied to have their name on the ballot for District 1 in the Fremont-Mills district.
Mills County voters will also be casting ballots for the Iowa Western Community College Board of Directors. Fred Lisle is unopposed in District 1 and Larry Winum is unopposed for the District 2 seat.
Additional voting information is available from the Mills County Auditor’s Office (527-3146).
