Let’s Rock -N- Roll over cancer is the theme of the 2009 Mills County Relay For Life:

The Mills County Relay for Life Entertainment and Activities Schedule for June 13 -14 is as follows:

Saturday, June 13

4 p.m. - Event Kick-off and Team Lap (line-up begins at 3:45). Prayer by Pastor Mike Stevens (United Methodist Minister for Hillsdale, Pacific Junction and Silver City); Flag Ceremony - presentation by Cub Scouts Troop 432 and Boy Scouts Troop 243; Star Spangled Banner - Lake Park Quartet.

4:30 p.m. Sheltered Reality.

5 p.m. - Dance and gymnastics by Ami Peterson’s dance students and Allison Aldabute’s dance students.

5 p.m. - Pork BBQ supper - prepared by Richard Roenfeld/ served by the Glenwood Lions Club. (open to the public for a $5 Relay donation).

6 p.m. - Glory Road Gospel Quartet.

6:45 p.m. Crystal Scroggins.

7:10 p.m. Jay Wise (trombone).

7:30 p.m. Celebration of Life - Survivors Lap.

7:45 p.m.- Amy and Carrie Stickrod music.

8:10 p.m. - Allee Rounds.

8:15 p.m.- Glenwood High School Dance Team.

8:30 p.m. Luminaria Lighting Ceremony and Circle of Friends.

9 p.m. - Relay Committee Lap - 25 years of hope birthday celebration.

9:15 p.m. - Craig Florian as Elvis.

Dusk - Fireworks by -J&M Display; special appearance by our own “American Cancer Idol.”

10 p.m. until midnight - Don Duysen playing all the oldies, but goodies til midnight.

Lively Music throughout the event by D.J. - Roger Shaw.

Sunday, June 14

7 a.m. to 9 a.m.: Pancake breakfast courtesy of the Glenwood Vol. Fire Dept. (freewill donation)

7 a.m. Clean-up lap (walkers help pick up luminarias)

8 a.m. Grand Finale March - Patriotic tunes to celebrate Flag Day and the end of our 2009 Relay

Cotton Candy, Carnival Games, Pony Rides, Kiddy Train Rides, Face Painting, petting zoo, and more at the KidsZone.
