Glenwood swept Shenandoah 25-18, 25-21, 25-10 in Hawkeye 10 Conference volleyball last Tuesday.
“This game was a continuation of the level of play I saw from the team last week versus Red Oak,” said Glenwood coach Maria Jacobus. “Everyone played well, worked together and our communication was great. From start to finish there was no drop off and we finished the game strong.”
Emily Blum and Grace Newman led the Rams in kills with five each.
The Rams served a season-best 92.4 percent as a team in the win.
Megan McKern and Newman led the defense with 12 digs apiece.
Courtney Magnussen had six blocks to lead the Rams.
Red Oak 27-24-27-22-15
Red Oak edged Glenwood in a five game marathon match on Sept. 11.
The Tigers finished off the Ram 25-27, 26-24, 25-27, 25-22, 13-15.
“This was a great game,” said Glenwood coach Maria Jacobus. “We played really hard, came back on them several times and stayed with them throughout the entire match. Our level of play was up throughout and if you add their set scores together and then do the same with ours, the difference is one point.
“This was a match that could've gone either way and I was very proud of how we played.”
Megan McKern and Grace Newman led the team in kills with 11 and 10 each, respectively. McKern also had three ace serves along with a perfect 100 percent from the service line and Newman had 16 digs.
McKenna Henze finished with 18 assists.
