Molly Bryan threw her first career no hitter and smacked a first inning homerun as the Glenwood softball team downed Council Bluffs St. Albert 10-0 in a five inning win.
Bryan, a freshman, struck out eight and did not walk a batter in the win. She was also 3-for-3 at the plate with five RBIs.
Nicole Charland added a double and a homerun and drove in two runs.
“This is the hitting I’ve been waiting for,” said Glenwood coach Tim Stanton. “We’d been hitting good these last few games but our power really showed up this game.”

The Glenwood softball team pounded out 26 hits in a pair of victories over Atlantic on Thursday.
In game one, the Rams smacked 15 hits in a 10-2 victory. Game two saw Glenwood gather 11 hits.
Glenwood coach Tim Stanton said he was as impressed by his team’s hitting as their defense (just two errors in the two games).
“We played probably better on defense than even I expected. We really looked good on defense in the second game,” said Stanton.
Molly Bryan pitched both games, striking out 16 and allowing just one earned run in the two complete-game wins. Bryan also had four hits on the day and drove in four runs.
“Molly pitched fantastic and we hit it really well,” said Stanton. “I think these two games showed a lot of what we have.”
Sophie Ringsdorf had five hits in the double-header, stole four bases and scored twice. Nicole Charland was 3-for-4 in game two with two runs driven. Aubree Eckhart added three hits.
