Rams drop 3-1 decision

    Spalding Catholic handed Glenwood a 3-1 loss in a non-conference match up on Saturday in Elk Point, S.D.
    The Rams (12-5 overall, 7-0) in the conference had 10 hits but just two went for extra-bases in the loss.
    Alex Forbes was 2-for-3 with a double and Nolan Robinson was 1-for-3 with a double.
    Corey Bertini took the loss on the hill after allowing five hits, just one earned run and striking out eight.
    The Rams’ Thursday night game with Council Bluffs Lewis Central was suspended in the fourth inning. No make-up date has been released.

Sioux City Heelan 9
    Glenwood plated five runs each in the fourth and fifth innings in a 10-9 upset of Class 3A No. 1 Sioux City Heelan last Wednesday.
    Alec Forbes drove in three runs and Brady Douma and Corey Bertini each drove in two.
    Grant Stivers earned his fourth win of the season on the hill and Forbes came on in the seventh to earn his fifth save.
    Paul Jacobson smacked a pair of home runs to lead Heelan.

Shenandoah 2
    Freshman Dru Little smacked two home runs for Glenwood in a 6-2 victory over Shenandoah last Tuesday.
    Corey Bertini added three hits and an RBI in the win.

C.B. Abraham Lincoln 7,
Glenwood 3
    The Glenwood baseball team suffered its third straight loss of the season on Monday in a 7-3 setback to Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln.
    The Rams (10-4 overall, 4-0 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference) committed six errors on defense leading to four Lynx runs.

    Alec Forbes had three of the Rams’ eight hits. Brady Wheeler had Glenwood’s only extra base hit, a double.
    Corey Bertini recorded the loss on the hill, tossing a complete game and allowing three earned runs and nine hits.
