Construction work is on schedule and staff at Glenwood’s City Hall are preparing for a move to their new offices later this month.
The new City Hall, located in the former Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints building at 5 N. Vine St. on the southeast corner of Town Square, will open to the public Monday, July 23. The first city council meeting in the new City Hall will take place Tuesday evening, July 24.
Both City Hall and Glenwood Municipal Utilities (GMU) staff will be housed on the upper floor of the building. Each of the two public entities will have its own entrance on the west side of the building. The entrance to the GMU office will include a mail slot for residences to drop off their monthly utility bill payments.
Both city and GMU offices will be closed Thursday, July 19, and Friday, July 20, to accommodate for the move to the new City Hall.
