Judge visited the Glenwood Indian Earth Lodge and also toured the Native American artifact room at the Mills County Historical Museum in Glenwood Lake Park.

“This is something very new to me. I’ve never seen an earth lodge before,” Judge said. “I wish I had more time because the history here is very interesting. I think it’s just wonderful that they’re spending as much effort on it as they are - preserving it and sharing it.”

Judge’s stop in Glenwood was arranged as part of her “Travel Iowa” tour. By summer’s end, she will have visited attractions in 65 communities from across the state.

“This summer, people in Iowa are finding that they don’t have the disposable income they might have had in the past. The trip they might have taken to the Grand Canyon, they aren’t going to take this year because they’re watching their dollars,” Judge said. “But, we believe there are incredibly fascinating things for people to see right here in the state.”
