Knights win fifth in a row

Fremont-Mills pitcher Mindy Lorimor threw a complete-game one-hitter and drove in three runs on two hits in a 10-0 Knights’ win over East Mills on Friday.

The Knights (22-10, 14-0 in the Corner Conference) have won five games in a row since a 10-0 set back to Bettendorf on June 27.

Lorimor fanned 10 in running her record to 20-3 on the year. The sophomore has struck out 267 in 136 1/3 innings pitched.

Lynde Madison was 2-for-4 and drove in a run. Hannah Fichter added two hits and two RBIs.

Amy Walker had the Wolverines’ lone hit.

Fremont-Mills 12,

Sidney 0

The Knights pounded out 11 hits in a 12-0 win over Sidney in Corner Conference softball on Thursday.

Jessica Donahue led the Knights with three hits and three RBIs. Mindy Lorimor, Chelsea Younts and Morgan Esary added two hits each.

Lorimor struck out six in three innings and did not allow a hit.

Essex 11,

East Mills 1

Essex defeated East Mills 11-1 in a Corner Conference softball match up on Thursday.

Gabbi Sowers had two hits and Amy Walker, Jordan Jennings, Shelby Goodman, Michelle Pullen and Kyndra Drake each added a hit.

Goodman took the loss in the circle allowing nine earned runs and eight hits.

Fremont-Mills 16,

Villisca 3

The Fremont-Mills softball team smacked 16 hits in a 16-3 Corner Conference win over Villisca on Wednesday.

Lauren Allen continued her hot hitting going 4-for-5 to lead six Knights with at least two hits. Lynde Madison drove in three runs on three hits. Morgan Esary was 2-for-5 with four RBIs. Mindy Lorimor was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Chelsea Younts had two hits.

Lorimor struck out 13 and allowed two hits and one earned run in the win.

Fremont-Mills 3,

Stanton 1

Lauren Alley was 3-for-3 at the plate and Mindy Lorimor fanned 12 in Fremont-Mills

3-1 victory over Stanton last Tuesday.

Lorimor added a two-run double.

Fremont-Mills 13,

Hamburg 0

Mindy Lorimor pitched a no-hitter in a three-inning, 13-0 victory over Hamburg last Monday.

Lorimor struck out eight of nine batters she faced and helper her own cause at the plate going 2-for-3.

Jessica Donahue added two hits and two RBIs and Lynde Madison drove in four runs on two hits.
