Knights’ 27th, Wolverines 30th at Class 1A boys state track meet

    Fremont-Mills' A.J. Scarborough earned a fourth place medal and Nick Pittmon a sixth place medal for East Mills at the Iowa State Track Meet this weekend.
    Madrid's 74 team points edged  Manson Northwest Webster by 21 points for the Class 1A team title.
    The Knights finished in 27th place with eight team points. The Wolverines weren't far behind with seven team points.
    Scarborough, the district and Corner Conference champion in the discus, unleashed a top throw of 157 feet, 8 inches to place fourth. Teammate Dallas Franks was ninth in the event.
    Scarborough also joined Tyler Hetzel, Nate Meier and Clayton Wilson to win sixth place in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:01.06.
    Pittmon was the top place winner for the Wolverines, clocking a 23.30 in the 200-meter finals on Saturday. Pittmon also teamed with Pierre Bassich, Kyle Steiner and brother Chris Pittmon to place 17th in the 4x200-meter relay.
