Glenwood has a vacant seat on its city council.
Kim Clark has resigned from her Ward 3 seat, effective Monday, April 27.
Clark’s letter of resignation was formally presented at the April 28 regular meeting of the city council. Clark was not in attendance at the meeting.
Her letter of resignation was brief and offered no explanation for her decision to resign.
“I have decided to resign my position on the Glenwood City Council effective Monday, April 27, 2009. I have enjoyed serving my fellow neighbors and citizens of Glenwood.”
No motion was made to approve or accept the resignation.
Glenwood Mayor Dyle Downing said the city has 40 days to make an appointment to fill the vacancy. Clark’s replacement will serve the remainder of her four-year term which ends later this year.
