Derek Jones scored a career-high 22 points for Glenwood in a 65-46 Hawkeye 10 Conference victory over Red Oak on Friday.
The Rams (7-7 overall, 4-5 in the conference) led wire-to-wire in posting a season-sweep over the Tigers with the win.
“This was a nice road win,” said Glenwood coach Curt Schulte. “It was their senior night so it was a good crowd and they (Red Oak) came out with some fire but we played good and got a good win.”
The Rams led by eight points at the half but extended their lead with a 16-11 third quarter.
Up by as many as 20 in the fourth quarter, the Rams withstood the Tigers’ pressure in the full court and at the free throw line. Glenwood finished 13-of-19 at the charity stripe for the game.
“This was good team play. We played with composure and handled their pressure very well,” Schulte said.
Tyler Jensen joined Jones in double-figures with 13 points. Scott King and Grant May each added eight points. J.J. Hahn and Trenton McNeel chipped in six points each.
The Glenwood boys dropped to 6-7 overall and 3-5 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference with a 66-48 loss to Creston last Tuesday.
