Fire Marshal Approves High School Occupancy

It’s official.


The long-awaited opening of the new Glenwood Community High School will take place Thursday.

GCHS Principal Kerry Newman confirmed Wednesday that a follow-up inspection from the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office has taken place and the district has been given the green light to occupy the school on Thursday.

Freshman and sophomore students will report to the high school Thursday for a full day of orientation. Juniors and seniors will report on Friday for their orientation. The first regular day of classes for all grades at the high school will be Monday.
