Investigators from the Iowa State Auditor’s Office and Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) are assisting Mills County authorities with an investigation involving the Mills County Treasurer’s Office.
“We have placed a person on (paid) administrative leave,” Mills County Attorney Eric Hansen said. “Some discrepancies came to our attention. This is a joint investigation between DCI and the state auditor’s office.”
Hansen said he could not discuss the alleged discrepancies detected nor the specifics of the investigation, but identified the employee placed on administrative leave as Tammy Gammon.
Mills County Treasurer Becky Killpack said Gammon has been employed in the treasurer’s office since January 2003 and works as a deputy in the auto department.
