The National Weather Service says a significant severe thunderstorm outbreak is expected Saturday afternoon and evening across much of the central plains, including western Iowa and eastern Nebraska.
Tornadic supercells with very large hail and widespread damaging winds are possible. It appears that the potential exists for a high-end life threatening event across portions of the Mid-Missouri Valley region. Western Iowa and eastern Nebraska residents are encouraged to monitor weather conditions and forecasts on Saturday and make preparations for possible severe weather.
