The Glenwood girls cross country team placed third at the Red Oak Invitational last Monday.
Griswold was the meet champion with 64 team points to runner up Harlan’s 75.
The Rams finished with 97 team points for third.
“The Rams again put in a solid performance at the meet,” said Glenwood coach Brad Rasmussen. “The Rams continue to improve on various parts of the race, which is leading to good efforts on the course.”
Lizzy Young led the Rams with a seventh place finish. Young’s time of 17:25 was a new course record for a Glenwood runner on the Red Oak course.
Molly Dean followed up Young with an 18th place finish, followed by Natalie Shearer in 22nd, Jillian Finnegan, making her first varsity appearance, was 23rd, Hannah McCue finished 32nd, also in her first varsity appearance, to complete the scoring for the Rams.
Glenwood was second in the junior varsity race led by Sarah Salerno’s fifth place showing.
The Glenwood Middle School squad won their meet, racking up 46 points to just edge out second place Shenandoah. Aubrey McIntyre led the Ram middle schoolers with a second place finish.
