The Glenwood girls track team traveled to the Sioux City Relays on Saturday in a crowded field of Class 3A and 4A teams.
“The Rams competed well and they provided the fans with personal best and season best efforts,” said Glenwood coach Brad Rasmussen. “They reached the podium six times during the afternoon, which was very rewarding. The coaching staff was pleased with the efforts of all the athletes.”
The Rams’ 4x100-meter relay team of Courtney Magnussen, Kecia Caudill, Sarah Salerno and Chelsea Webster won a gold medal with a top time of 51.23. Glenwood’s other gold medal went to the shuttle hurdle relay team of Miranda
Ruth, Molly Dean, Ashley Konfrst and Olivia Scarborough with a top time of 1:09.98.
Jacy Embray added a second place showing in the discus and Dean was third in the high jump.

Rams win second
straight team title
The Glenwood girls track team continued its winning ways with a dominating team victory at the Red Oak Relays Thursday.
Glenwood racked up 173 points to easily out-pace second place Shenandoah’s 104 points.
In all, the Rams’ won eight events and placed second or third in six more events.
“This meet was a meet we showed where the Rams could compete as a team,” said Glenwood coach Brad Rasmussen. “The win was a complete team effort.”
Glenwood broke four meet records with gold medal performances by Jacy Embray in the shot put and the shuttle hurdle, 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relay teams.
Also winning gold for Glenwood was Sarah Salerno (long jump), Courtney Magnussen (100-meters), Miranda Ruth (100-meter hurdles) and the 4x800-meter relay team.

Rams win Cardinal Relays
There’s a first time for everything.
For the Glenwood girls track team that time was last Tuesday at the Lady Cardinal Relays. Never before had the Rams left Clarinda with a team title.
Until last Tuesday.
Glenwood easily out raced second place Shenandoah 198 to 105 in the team standings. The host Cardinals were a distant third with 92 points.
“This is the first time in history the Rams have won this Clarinda meet,” said Glenwood coach Brad Rasmussen.” The Rams competed well, yet have things to work on to improve. Conditioning, starts, hand-offs and being mentally ready are a few items we need to perfect. The team had some very fine performances with more to come.”
Among the fine performances was the Rams field events. Glenwood nearly swept the field with Sarah Salerno (long jump), Molly Dean (high jump) and Jacy Embray (shot put) all winning gold and Linnaea Konfrst taking home a silver in the discus.
Miranda Ruth (100-meter hurdles) and Bailey Starner (1,500 meter run) added gold medals. Glenwood also got gold medals from it’s distance medley and 4x400-meter relays teams.
Courtney Magnussen had a strong day in the sprints, winning silver in the 100 and 200-meters and helping the Rams to a silver in the 4x100-meters.
