Glenwood girls golf fifth at A.L Tournament

The Glenwood girls golf team placed fifth at the Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln Invitational at Fox Run Golf Course last Wednesday.

Council Bluffs Lewis Central had a team round of 427 to win the event. Harlan was second with a 429.

Glenwood shot a 438 for fifth place.

Bianca Zerwas of Lewis Central shot a 100 for first place. A one-hole, playoff decided the runner up with Logan Doty of Fremont-Mills taking second, Emily Storey from Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson third and Glenwood’s Morgan Woodrum fourth.

Other scorers for Glenwood were Charley Arno with a 105 (11th place), Bobi Jo Rockwell and Chelsee Bird both shot a 116 (29th place), Chloe Newman finished with a 118 (32nd place) and Chelsea Konfrst shot a 147 (48th place).

Clarinda 195,

Glenwood 225

The Clarinda golf team edged Glenwood 195-225 in Hawkeye 10 Conference golf last Monday.

Clarinda had the top two medal winners with Jennifer Geer who carded a dual best 43 and Sarah Steinauer was second with a 46.

Morgan Woodrum led Glenwood with a 54 and Charley Arno a 55.

Bobi Jo Rockwell carded a 56, Cassie Ford a 60, Chloe Newman a 61 and Chelsee Bird a 64.

Clarinda’s Betsy Anderson led the junior varsity with a round of 64. Chelsea Konfrst was the Rams’ top J.V. scorer with a 71.
