The Glenwood girls track team placed fourth at the Trojan/Trojann Co-Ed Invitational Track Meet on Friday in Atlantic.
Despite missing some key team members to illness, the Rams still finished two spots higher at the meet than last season.
“For the most part we ran pretty well,” said Glenwood coach Brad Rasmussen, noting his team's first place finish in the distance medley relay. “We were trying some different things that night, trying to see if Jenna (Turcotte) could run the 4x800 and turn around and anchor the distance medley and she did that.
“I think we were a little bit tired and a little bit under the weather so we backed off a little bit but I think finishing fourth was a very good performance for us.”
The meet was highlighted by an exciting first place finish by the Rams' distance medley relay team and Lydia Bienlien's second place finish in the long jump.
Glenwood added a third place showing in the sprint medley relay.
