Glenwood girls defeat St. Albert

The Glenwood girls basketball team edged Council Bluffs St. Albert 57-51 in overtime in Council Bluffs on Saturday.
St. Albert’s Kylie Ferguson hit a jumper with just a second left on the clock in regulation to force overtime. But Glenwood would go on to out-score the Saintes 9-3 in the overtime period to secure the win.

Bailey Starner led the Rams with 19 points. Halie Darrow added 10 and Myranda Starner eight.

The Saintes’ Ferguson led all scorers with 21 points.

Glenwood 36

Council Bluffs Lewis Central led by as many as 17 points while holding Glenwood to just 14 points after halftime in a 50-36 Titans victory last Tuesday.

The Titans (4-1) led 32-22 at the half and stretched their lead to as many as 17 before the Rams managed to trim the lead to 48-36 and had the ball with four minutes to go but that was as close as they would get. Glenwood did not score in the final four minutes.

Amy Pedersen led the Titans with 14 points and Paige Beacon added 10.
Bailey Starner led Glenwood with seven points.
