Glenwood cross country sixth at Red Oak meet

The Glenwood girls cross country team placed sixth at the Red Oak Cross Country Meet last Thursday.

Harlan was the meet champion followed by Griswold and Atlantic.

The Rams were paced by the 22nd-place showing of Kayla Anderson with a time of 18:59. Ashly Nolan was 31st in 19:31 and Laura Chekal was 39th.

Glenwood was without No. 2 runner Brooke Peckham who sat out the meet with an undisclosed illness.

Katie Sladovnik paced the Ram junior varsity with a 13th place showing.

Rams eighth at Clarinda

The Glenwood girls cross country team placed eighth at the Clarinda Cross Country Meet on Sept. 8.

Harlan was the meet champion with 56 team points to edge Griswold by six points.

Glenwood was paced by the 21st-place finish of Kayla Anderson with a time of 18:34 and the 28th-place finish of Brooke Peckham in 18:52.

Laura Chekal placed 43rd for Glenwood but improved on her personal best by over 20 seconds.

The Ram junior varsity was paced by the 18th-place finish of Melissa Hohler in 21:32. The middle schoolers were led by Carlie Cooper's fifth place finish in 14:52.
