Iowa Department of Human Services spokesperson Roger Munns said last week that DHS has whittled down the list of candidates for the superintendent position at the Glenwood Resource Center to three finalists. Selected from a pool of 18 candidates, the finalists are:
- Stan Butkis, recently the director of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, and previously the director of Virginia’s mental health programs.
- R. Scot Booth, a consultant with The Columbus Organization and recently the executive director of an intermediate care facilities for persons with mental retardation in New Mexico.
- Gary Anders, currently an assistant superintendent of treatment therapy services at the Glenwood Resource Center. Anders was formerly with the Beatrice State Developmental Center in Nebraska prior to its closing earlier this year.
Kelly Brodie has served as the facility’s interim superintendent since Tom Hoogestraat retired last fall.
