F-M girls get defensive in win

    The Fremont-Mills defense limited Heartland Christian to 22 percent shooting in a 44-29 victory on Friday.
    Macy Williams led the Knights (13-5 overall, 9-0 in the conference) with  a game-high 25 points in the win. Emily Smith added eight points and Taryn Williams, six.
    Steffi Cunard recorded 17 points to lead the Eagles.

Fremont-Mills 55,
Essex 41
    Kendall Fichter scored a career-high 12 points and Taryn Williams added 12 more for Fremont-Mills in a 55-41 Corner Conference girls basketball win over Essex last Tuesday.
    Fichter hit 4-of-10 shots and pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out six assists to go with her 12 points.
    The Knights held a 38-36 rebounding edge and limited Essex to 25.4 percent shooting (14-of-55).
    Cheyana Brownfield led Essex with 14 points.
