Corner Conference Basketball Teams

Herrick, Westover named to conference first team

Fremont-Mills guard Brandon Herrick and East Mills guard A.J. Westover were tabbed as first team selections on the 2008-2009 All-Corner Conference basketball teams.

Herrick, a 6-foot-2 senior, led the Knights in scoring this season with 13.6 points per game and 22 thee-pointers. Westover, also a senior, shared the team lead with 12.3 points per game and grabbed 65 steals this season as the Wolverines finished one game short of its first state tournament berth.

East Mills' Jake Doyle, a junior guard, and Jake Bolton, a junior forward, were named the Corner Conference second teams. Doyle averaged 12.3 points per game and hit 49 three-pointers this season. Bolton led the Wolverines with 7.1 rebounds per game and added 9.4 points.

Earning honorable mention were Dylan Miller, Ryan Menicucci and Thomas Ware of Fremont-Mills and Luke Schafer of East Mills.

Donahue, Alley on Corner second team

Fremont-Mills' Lauren Alley and Jessica Donahue have been selected for the All-Corner Conference girls basketball teams in a league-wide vote of coaches.

Alley, a senior forward, led the Knights with 11.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Donahue, a senior guard and four-year starters, averaged 11.3 points per game and grabbed 89 steals during the 2008-2009 season.

Earning honorable mention wereShelby Sommerla and Jensen Duysen of East Mills and Hannah of Fremont-Mills.
