Contested Races In City Elections

There will be several contested races in next month’s municipal elections in Mills County.

In Glenwood, incumbent mayor Kim Clark is being challenged by Trent Good. Two candidates  - Matt Gray and Jessie Lundvall - are running for a seat on the city council being vacated by Steve Fornoff.

Contested races are also on the ballot in Henderson, Malvern, Pacific Junction and Silver City.

The following candidates are seeking election in the Nov. 5 election:

Emerson - Mayor,  Robert Erickson; City Council (elect two), no candidates.

Glenwood - Mayor, Kim Clark, Trent Good; City Council Ward 3 (elect one), Susan Hirschman; City Council At Large (elect one), Matt Gray, Jessie Lundvall.

Hastings - Mayor, Rodney W Courtier; City Council (elect five), Sheri Bacon, Gay Courtier, Eva M. Hall, Alita Jones.

Henderson - Mayor, Mike Baumfalk, Bambi Byers; City Council (elect two), Terry Byers, John P. Eledge, Janelle Williams.

Malvern - Mayor, Michael K. Blackburn, Sara Gordon, Toni R. Michel; City Council (elect five), Rusty J. Holbert, Fred A. Moreau, Katelyn J. Phelps, Doug Shere.

Pacific Junction - Mayor, Connie S. Turner, James Lovely; City Council (elect five), Rodney Bents, William “Butch” Green, Patricia Hatcher, Richard Kerres, Korrena Neppl, Earl W. Smith.

Silver City - Mayor, Gary Frankforter, Rose Mary Schoening; City Council four-year term (elect one), Jake Jones; City Council to fill vacancy (elect one), Hobbie Pieken.
