Fremont-Mills scored touchdowns on plays of 30, 33, 39, 43 and 68 yards as the Knights cruised to a 52-12 victory over Nishnabotna in Eight-Man, District 8 football Friday in Hamburg.
“This was a very up and down game for us,” said Fremont-Mills coach Jeremy Christiansen. “We overwhelmed them at times but we also had a lot of breakdowns here and there.”
The Knights rushed for 253 yards behind Spencer Phillips’ 12 carries for 95 yards. Phillips scored a 43-yard touchdown. Chris Goodman and Mackenzy Lang each added 58 and 55 yards, respectively, and a pair of touchdowns on the ground.
Jason Rusten complete 4-of-10 passes for the Knights, hooking up with Brandon Meston on a 48 yard touchdown pass.
Powers added a special teams score, racing 68 yards for a touchdown on a punt return.
The Knights led 39-0 and had limited Nishnabotna to 111 yards after three quarters.
Fremont-Mills hosts Southwest Valley in a game that could decide the District 8 championship this Friday. Kick off is set for 7 p.m.
